Gorgeous, Versatile Custom 24 Piezo
The PRS Custom 24 Piezo 10-Top will fortify your sonic palette with an array of tonal colors! This breathtaking axe gives you supreme playability and luscious visuals, plus the versatility of acoustic and electric guitar tones from the same instrument. The beautifully carved figured maple 10-Top looks incredible and adds a distinct snap to your notes — supported by a warm-sounding mahogany back. A supremely playable Pattern Thin mahogany neck is capped by a silky-smooth rosewood fingerboard and graced with signature Bird inlays. What's more, two TCI-tuned 58/15 pickups deliver a powerful humbucker punch straight out of the late '50s. Clear your schedule, plug in, and start playing. Take it from Sweetwater: the PRS Custom 24 Piezo 10-Top is seriously addictive.
Drink in this guitar's smooth, clear vintage voice
When you plug the Custom 24 Piezo 10-Top into your favorite amp, you will be enveloped in a rich and decidedly vintage tone. This is the warm and clear sonic elixir that propelled PRS 58/15 pickups to the top of many guitarists' favorite PAF-style humbucker lists. That's because Paul Smith himself designed the 58/15 pickups to give you the sweet sound of real vintage humbuckers. If you want to replicate the best, you should go right to the source. That's just what PRS did when they bought the same coil wire manufacturing machine that '50s-era guitar makers used to create some of the most iconic-sounding pickups in history.
PRS retooled these pickups to bring the sweet harmonics and chunky warmth of this classic design to your Custom 24. Each set of pickups has been ear-tuned to perfection by Paul and his team, a process known as Tuned Capacitance and Inductance (TCI). The end result is a very musical pickup that’s true to its lineage, but updated for the modern player.
PRS piezo pickup system for organic acoustic tones
The PRS/LR Baggs piezo pickup system on this guitar delivers an exceedingly natural acoustic tone that belies its solidbody construction. A control knob lets you blend in the sound of this pickup with the sound of the onboard humbuckers for an organic-sounding hybrid tone that combines the woody airiness of an acoustic guitar with the punch and sustain of an electric. The guitar's electronics setup gives you independent control of magnetic and piezo pickup volume and a master tone, while a 5-way blade switch plus 3-way mini-toggle arrangement gives you access to any pickup configuration. The Custom 24 Piezo 10-Top features a separate piezo output positioned next to the guitar's magnetic pickup output, giving you the flexibility to route the signals to separate destinations for processing or amplification, should you so desire.
Pattern Thin neck profile for fluid playability
If you're like the guitarists here at Sweetwater, you'll love the fluid playability of the Custom 24 Piezo 10-Top's Pattern Thin neck — it truly feels like home. Evolved from designs Paul Reed Smith has been working on for decades and perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Thin neck carve is an updated version of the traditional Wide Thin neck style. The Pattern Thin neck shape is fast and comfortable — ideal for players with smaller hands or guitarists who use classical left-hand positioning, pivoting with their thumb on the back of the neck.
