Martin 0042JM-C John Mayer Crossroads Guitar
In honor of the Crossroads Guitar Festival, Guitar Center has commissioned a limited run of 50 exquisitely appointed custom guitars designed by John Mayer to benefit the Crossroads Centre in Antigua. It features a grand concert body size similar to the late 1800s parlor guitars popular for traveling by stagecoach, imparting the “SC” appended to the model name. The Sitka spruce gloss top is shaded with a warm amber burst with back and sides of rich Cocobolo. Classic 42 style body and fingerboard appointments hearken back to the original 00-42 designed by Martin from the late 1800s to mid 1900s. A subtle but expertly hand-fitted contiguous ring rosette inlay crosses the fretboard, giving this model a precisely handcrafted adornment like no other.
Each guitar is strung with Martin’s Authentic Acoustic Lifespan® 2.0 strings and includes a paper label hand-signed by Mayer and Martin owner and CEO, Chris Martin. A Custom Shop ply hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included. Like the Crossroads Guitar Festival, profits from this model will directly benefit the Crossroads Centre.
