Ample sound-shaping controls craft a well-sculpted tone
The Hartke Bass Attack 2 preamp/direct box’s sound-shaping capabilities will transform the tones you hear in your head into solid, playable reality. Dial in the perfect amount of tonal color to sweeten your sound. A Contour switch provides even more tone-shaping possibilities. Hartke’s Shape circuit activates a preset EQ curve that can be customized using Shape Frequency and Amount knobs. Whenever you want a bass boost or low-mid bump for a certain section of a song, the Shape circuit performs masterfully – without disrupting your other EQ settings. Bassists at Sweetwater are longtime fans of Hartke’s Shape EQ circuit.
Dial in tube warmth or grungy fuzz with the Drive control
Whether you’re after subtle warmth or something a bit nastier, the Bass Attack 2 delivers. A quick twist of the Hartke Bass Attack 2’s Drive control yields everything from warm tube emulation to all-out grungy fuzz. A Tone knob dials in your desired level of high-frequency growl, and a Mix knob provides you with fine control over the balance between distorted and dry signals.
DI provides flexible output options for recording or front of house
Whether you send it to your DAW or to front of house, the Bass Attack 2 provides plenty of flexible output options. A 1/4″ parallel output passes your dry signal. A 1/4″ effect output is great for driving your amp. A balanced XLR output interfaces directly with a console – no separate direct box required. Adjust your stage sound without affecting the front of house mix, thanks to the Bass Attack 2’s direct output Pre/Post switch. You can even operate the Bass Attack 2 with your mixer’s phantom power!
