High-quality A/B/Y Switcher
The Mesa/Boogie Switch-Track adds either-or-both A/B/Y functionality to your guitar rig. Toggle between two different amps for contrasting tones, or switch between two identical amps to give yourself more channels. You can also combine two amplifiers for a larger sound or to achieve blended sonic textures. Control the Switch-Track directly from the unit's built-in footswitches or via MIDI program change if you've got a large rig. And it's sonically transparent — the Switch-Track's input is buffered to prevent signal loss, and both outputs are transformer isolated for consistent tone and to supply unbalanced or balanced signals for long cable runs.
What's an A/B/Y switch?
Like an A/B switch, this is a switch with two outputs, A and B, that a user can manually switch between. However, the A/B/Y switch also includes the option to combine both outputs, A and B (hence the “Y” option). Like an A/B switch, A/B/Y switches are popular in live music rigs when using dual signal chains. For example, a guitarist may have two amplifiers onstage and want an A/B/Y switch footpedal to select the A amp, B amp, or to run both simultaneously.
Mesa/Boogie — tone, versatility, and performance
For decades, Mesa/Boogie amps have set the standard for what a great-sounding tube amplifier should be. Renowned for their combination of pure tube tone, versatility, and player-friendly performance, these amps are found on stages and in studios everywhere, and for good reason — the best choose the best.
